Your information

What we process

When you use the FIRECracker application, we may process your Google account name and email address, the financial information and planning assumptions you enter, temporary guest or Demo Profile information, and the technical session and security information needed to provide the service.

The public website does not currently use visitor analytics, advertising trackers or behavioural tracking.

Why we use it

We use information to provide the FIRECracker service you request, operate accounts and temporary demos, save and calculate your planning information, keep the service secure, respond to support enquiries and meet relevant legal obligations.

Depending on the activity, our lawful basis may include providing the service or taking steps at your request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing FIRECracker, and compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Google is used as the application’s authentication provider. Information may also be processed by service providers where necessary to operate or secure FIRECracker, or disclosed where required by law.

How long we keep it

Account and planning information is retained while reasonably necessary to provide and operate the service and meet legitimate security or legal requirements.

Temporary application storage is shorter-lived: guest sessions are designed to last for up to seven days, pending Demo Profile adoption information for around one hour, and OAuth security information only as long as needed to complete authentication.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable form.

Cookies & device storage

What FIRECracker stores

Public website

The public website at firecracker.today does not currently set cookies or browser storage for ordinary logged-out visitors. WordPress administration storage is used only when authorised administrators sign in to manage the site.

FIRECracker application

app.firecracker.today uses first-party storage needed for Google sign-in, session security, temporary guest and Demo Profile sessions, and short-lived plan adoption.

Browser local storage may also remember preferences such as theme, whether dashboard financial values are shown, and Money Flow display and sorting choices.

Your main FIRECracker financial plan is stored by the application on the server rather than in browser local storage.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google may use its own cookies or technologies on Google’s domains as part of its authentication service.

Why there is no cookie banner

FIRECracker does not currently use optional advertising, behavioural-tracking or product-analytics technologies requiring a general marketing or analytics consent choice. If that changes, we will review this notice and introduce appropriate controls where required.

Using FIRECracker

FIRECracker is a financial planning and modelling tool designed to help you understand scenarios involving your assets, liabilities, money flow and retirement plans.

By using FIRECracker, you agree to use the service lawfully and not deliberately interfere with its operation or security or attempt unauthorised access.

Your information and assumptions

The quality of a model depends on the information and assumptions used. You are responsible for checking the information you enter and deciding whether the assumptions are appropriate for the scenario you want to explore.

Accounts and temporary plans

Demo Profiles and guest plans let you explore FIRECracker without first creating a permanent account. They are temporary unless the application expressly offers you a way to adopt the plan into your account.

Availability

FIRECracker is an evolving service. Features, assumptions and presentation may change, and parts of the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security or technical reasons.

Intellectual property

The FIRECracker application, public-site design and product content belong to Abara Limited or its licensors unless stated otherwise. The financial and planning information you enter remains your information.

Forecasts are illustrative

FIRECracker forecasts and projections are estimates based on the information and assumptions used. They are not guarantees of future income, investment performance, tax outcomes, pension values or retirement sustainability.

Assumptions matter

Results can depend materially on investment growth, inflation, fees, tax treatment, pension access, State Pension timing, retirement age, spending patterns and the order in which assets are used.

Rules and markets change

Tax, pension and State Pension rules can change, and actual investment returns may be very different from those modelled. FIRECracker should not be treated as a substitute for current professional tax, pension, legal or regulated financial advice.

Your decisions remain yours

FIRECracker does not move money or make financial decisions on your behalf. Before making a significant pension, investment, tax or retirement decision, consider checking the position with an appropriately qualified professional.

Security

Keeping FIRECracker secure

FIRECracker currently uses Google for account authentication rather than storing a separate FIRECracker password.

The public website and application are served over HTTPS, and production authentication and guest-session cookies use browser security controls appropriate to their purpose.

Financial-plan information is stored by the application on the server. Browser local storage is limited to application preferences such as theme and display choices.

FIRECracker does not currently operate individual page-usage analytics, advertising trackers or marketing pixels.

The public website and application are treated as separate experiences, and application cookies are not deliberately shared across the parent .firecracker.today domain.
